Summary:
The Manufacturing Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing and reporting financial and product cost data for Finance and Management.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of cost accounting principles and standard costing systems in an ERP environment; will be responsible for maintaining the cost accounting system, performing monthly close responsibilities and reporting as it relates to the business unit, performing monthly variance analysis, participating in the annual standard cost roll and in monthly/annual forecasting and budgeting.
JOB
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and/or maintain the cost accounting systems for manufactured equipment and parts.
Monthly/Month end close processes and reporting for costing and inventory for operational review.
Perform cost updates and rolling costs of bills of materials for clear to build, participate in operations production meetings.
Perform work order and PPV cost variance analysis on a weekly/monthly basis and support GL team with monthly adjustments.
Prepare monthly reporting on Inventories, Sales and Margins, analyzing margin variances.
Prepare reporting, analyze results and provide insights/recommendations to improve performance in operational manufacturing spending and absorption.
Review and report metrics for Operations (Efficiency, BTS, OTD, Inventory turns) Work with Shared Services and other sites as needed on data & follow up on irregularities, become business partners to each other.
Assist as liaison between to facilitate processes.
Participate in S&OP for inputs, analysis and reviews, including forecast volumes & changes to model mix.
Assist with annual budget, and forecasts.
Coordinate annual standard cost updates.
Cost by model analysis prior to budget and after standard cost update.
Evaluate and recommend price book updates as needed based on cost findings.
Semi Annual E&O analysis and review with Controller and Materials Manager New product development support with costing analysis Assist in ensuring SOX compliance and timely performance of testing and documentation.
Drive continuous innovations in reporting & analysis to ensure usefulness for decision making.
Special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.
Close Manufacturing work orders and review variances for materials, labor, and overhead to Bills of Materials for corrections or reclasses.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree (in Accounting or Finance).
Standard cost experience in a manufacturing environment PREFERRED
Qualifications:
System Skills:
Intermediate to advanced Excel user.
Experience with Oracle, SAP or other major ERP system.
Experience with OneStream, Hyperion or other Business information tool.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, relationship building skills and demonstrated ability to work across and influence different functional areas and levels of management.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to work independently.
Quick learner, strong analytical and problem solving skills to complement creative out-of-the-box thinking.
The salary range for this position is $70,400 - $100,000 annually dependent on experience.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
