This position requires a thorough knowledge of maintenance and inspection procedures, as well as demonstrated ability to train, develop, and motivate team members.
Well-developed communications and human relations skills are essential in day-to-day interaction with all levels of management, both internally and externally.

Responsible for overall supervision and coordination of workers activities related to the setup, installation, maintenance and repair of equipment, tools and machinery to ensure non-stop operation of the plant/location assigned.


Responsibilities:

  • Interprets company policies and safety regulations to ensure compliance and safe work environment.
  • Plans and directs daily work activities in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Coordinate contractor work on site as it pertains to production equipment and facility repairs.
  • Serving as single point of accountability for maintenance activities for the facility
  • Coordinates preventive maintenance activities outage activities on equipment in area of responsibility
  • Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in timely manner.
  • Fiscal responsibility for maintenance budget, including maintenance administration, maintenance parts, and outside services for maintenance repairs.
  • Plan and write capital expenditure requests for maintenance-based projects
  • Performing root cause analysis and 5-why techniques with the goal of eliminating maintenance downtime
  • Working with Engineering on the repetitive maintenance problems to continuously improve the reliability of the equipment and facilities
  • Coordinating and managing the development of maintenance work procedures and standard practices to maximize quality work and eliminate waste
  • Driving continuous improvement activities to eliminate all waste, especially as related to maintenance downtime, safety, work practices, and employee involvement
  • Effectively managing applicable labor issues within work area
  • Coaching, supervising, and training skilled team members in the repair and maintenance activities of their assigned shift and areas

Basic
Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment

Preferred
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a unionized work environment.
  • A technical college degree from an accredited institution (Associate's degree) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, etc.
    or a journeyman certification.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and industrial hygiene
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, instrumentation, hydraulic and pneumatic operations, programmable controllers and their application, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and other types of malfunctions of machinery and equipment
